Test Areas


The written examination for Class VIII will be in two stages:

  • Stage I examination at the State/UT level will comprise of two parts, namely

    1. Mental Ability Test (MAT)

    2. Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering social sciences, sciences and mathematics.

    2. Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering social sciences, sciences and mathematics

    3. Interview

    1. There is no negative marking
    2. Each right answer is awarded one mark
    3. Once the students finish the MAT, the SAT is administered after a short break of about 5 minutes.
    4. Only those candidates who qualify in the written examination at the National Level will be invited for the interview.
